Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 has been in the news since the last couple of weeks and now Xiaomi has finally confirmed that it will be hosting a launch event in China to announce a new smartphone which will feature a 48-megapixel rear camera. For the unknown, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is expected to be the first smartphone from the company to come with the 48-megapixel primary rear camera.

In a post on Weibo, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be hosting a launch event on January 10 in China and while the teaser features Redmi written in big fonts, the shadow seems to hint at the presence of a 48-megapixel primary rear camera. The post was accompanied by another image with a text that reads, ‘Always believe something wonderful is about to happen’.

Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 expected specifications and price

The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is expected to come with a punch hole display featuring an in-display front camera while the smartphone is rumoured to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor. Further, since Xiaomi President Lin Bin confirmed that the company will soon be launching a new smartphone with a 48-megapixel rear camera, the smartphone in question is expected to be the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro. Also, there might be a triple rear camera setup out of which, one will be the 48-megapixel sensor.

Other details of the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 are still not known, however, it is worth noting that the Redmi Pro was launched as a high-end offering in the Redmi-series while it was limited to China. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is expected to be launched in India and could be priced near the Rs. 20,000-mark.
