Mahendra Singh Dhoni is back to flaunt the yellow color in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. Ahead of the mega auctions for IPL 2018, the Player Retention event has already become the cynosure of the cricketing spectrum, as well as the social media. Making a comeback into the coveted tournament, Chennai Super Kings has already hogged the limelight after the franchise retained Chennai’s time served trio: MSD, Suresh Raina, and Ravindra Jadeja. The celebrated trio have made a mark playing for the team and have been befittingly retained by the Yellow brigade. Following their retention, CSK’s Twitter handle posted Dhoni, Raina and Jadeja’s video signing the contract papers besides their jubilant expression. CSK’s second retention, out of favor Raina, too was captured signing the papers who had a clinical message for the fans.

An elated Raina expressed, “Vadakkam Chennai! Good to be back at CSK after two years and looking forward to play in front of my beautiful crowd and knowledgeable crowd what I missed in the last two years. See you out there in Chepauk stadium.”

Raina, who featured for Gujarat Lions in CSK’s absence, has a staggering 4540 runs at an average of 34.13 and a strike rate of 139.09 in IPL. After his retention Raina tweeted, “Taking a trip to nostalgia! There is no bigger joy then reuniting with your family & the force of reunion is unstoppable!#Chennai here we come to make the celebration of 378 years even more special!#IPLRetention #CSK #WhistlePodu @ChennaiIPL @IPL @msdhoni @imjadeja.”

While signing the CSK retention paperwork, Jadeja said, “Hi guys! I am really excited and very happy to be part of the CSK team again. So, hopefully, you guys, you will enjoy our action and we will try and win as many as games for CSK. Whistle Podu.”

India’s pivotal spin ace Jadeja, who began his IPL journey for Rajasthan Royals, joined CSK in 2012 post which he became one of the most valuable players in the cash-rich tournament under Dhoni’s guidance.
