State Bank of India has announced on its website that it is blocking internet banking access of all customers who have so far not registered their mobile numbers with bank accounts. “As per Reserve Bank of India advisory, it is mandatory to register your mobile number to avail internet banking services. Please register your mobile number by November 30 2018, failing which your internet banking access may be deactivated or blocked with effect from December 1 2018,” warns the bank on its website.
So, all SBI customers who you do not want to lose access to their SBI internet banking accounts must visit nearest branch of the bank before November 30, i.e. tomorrow. But before you do so, here is how you can check online whether you have already linked your mobile number to your SBI internet banking account or not.
Enter your internet banking ID and password to log in into the main SBI website (Not Yono or Lite site)
After you log-in, go to ‘My accounts and profile’ options on the left
Click on the ‘Profile’ option from the drop-down menu under ‘My accounts and profile’ tab
Go to ‘Personal Details/Mobile’ option
Enter your profile password (note that it is a separate password and not the same as your login password)
This page will show your registered name, email-ID and mobile number that is linked with the account
If you have already linked a mobile number with the account then it will be shown in 98XXX format
If there is no mobile number linked then it will be shown blank and you will have to visit the bank branch immediately to link your mobile number
Only internet banking will be blocked from December 1 if no mobile number is linked
SBI bank account will continue to be operational and no other service will be stopped if you do not link your mobile number
