Effective from March 1, Renault India has slashed the price of its SUV, the Duster, across all the variants by up to Rs 1 lakh. The company attributes this decrease in the price of the 2018 version of the Duster to the increase in localisation of the model in India. Sumit Sawhney, CEO and managing director, Renault India operations, said, “Renault had one of the highest localisations done on the Kwid with 98% at the time of launch. We are happy to pass on the benefits to the new Duster customers, making it more attractive across the range enabled by our aggressive localisation strategy on the Duster as well.”
The price cut will come as a boon for the Duster, which, while having been a hot seller when it was launched in 2012, has started losing much of its sheen, due to new players in its segment like the Hyundai Creta.
